Rather than making a list of three or five or more things for which we are grateful each day, I wonder how much more impact we might feel from a practice of sitting quietly for a short period of time to notice just one thing for which, in that in that moment, we feel deeply thankful.
Naming a large number of things we are grateful for is not the most important thing, nor is ticking off a number of suggested actions from a list like the one mentioned above. What is important is the authentic sense of joy and happiness and, yes, gratitude that we can truly
feel in a moment of focused awareness. When we can do that, we will find ourselves more deeply connected to life and our actions and our experiences will benefit positively in profound ways.
Happy Thanksgiving!
