For many girls with ADHD, their struggle is hidden--behind intense efforts to avoid notice, to please the teacher, and to get
their work done. The brighter they are, the more easily they can hide their attentional difficulties, compensating with other strengths. Parents and professionals alike must be aware that young girls may successfully avoid overt difficulties for many years.
